We didn't set out to start a matcha company. We were just two friends from completely different walks of life who ended up on the same flight to Japan.
What started as an adventure turned into something we didn't expect. On a visit to a matcha farm in Uji, we watched farmers hand-pick the first harvest leaves at peak season — the most prized, most flavorful leaves of the entire year. Then we tasted it. Fresh. Ceremonial grade. Ground to order.It wasn't like anything we'd had before.
No bitterness. No chalkiness. Just smooth, vivid, almost electric green tea that made us look at each other and say — why isn't this what everyone back home is drinking?So we made it our mission to find out.
